Teens, the Internet and Cellphones
flickr_teen_cellphone

Not every parent will need this, but if your teen is headed for trouble, there are apps to help you monitor cell phone use. We also posted a link to a great article on what some of the latest apps are that teens are using. Hopefully it’s not out of date yet! Are You a Highly Sensitive Person?
flickr_highly_sens_person

In my many years of practice, I have encountered quite a few people who don’t realize that they are what is called “a highly sensitive person”.  What does this mean?  It means that some people have a nervous system that is more easily over-whelmed by too much stimulation.  If any of this sounds like you or your child, check out our blog post for a quick self-test you can take, on a great website devoted to this topic. Go to http://tinyurl.com/hsp-self-test.

Is Chronic Pain Making You Angry?
flicr.chronicpain_angry

It is definitely not fun to cope with chronic pain.  It’s also not fun to have devote a significant part of your day to try to prevent it, minimize it, or stop it from getting worse.  Many of my clients with chronic pain say they feel like no one really understands. So I’m happy to have found a blog devoted to the topic, and a post from it on the anger pain can cause. Go to http://tinyurl.com/chronic-pain-anger

What to Expect When....
I’ve found over the years that people have lots of questions and sometimes fears about what will happen at a first appointment. So to help answer those questions and relieve those fears, I’ve been publishing of series of articles on what to expect when you first start counseling.  Please share this information with anyone you know who has questions.
